On Monday I showed you a little sneak peek of a project I've been working on recently. It's this old box that I bought eight years ago at an antique fair. When I bought it, it was a gorgeous natural wood color, but I was going through a lime green phase. So it became this:
So I just decided to paint over the lime green with Behr's Country Dairy, followed by a little crackle glaze and this new antiquing medium that I blogged about on Monday.
I love it now! We have a place to corral all our random kitchen stuff on the table, and it doesn't look like clutter because it's in a cute little box.

OK. That is stinking cute! I'm all about practical and centerpieces don't work in our house for moving it constantly. That would so work!!! Now let's hope I come across a box at a garage sale this summer :)

Looks great! The white looks wonderful...I think we all went through that lime green phase! ;-) So functional and pretty.
Aww, it turned out so cute! And I love that it's practical as well. I love the white! Thanks for sharing!

Cute project. The white looks great against the wood of the table.
That looks great! I love the idea and you made it look wonderful.
I love the white and all the compartments. It looks fabulous on the table.
What a cute little tray! I thought it was adorable when it was green, but it's even better now..and more useful!

I love it! What a great idea! I think I have a little divided box like that somewhere around here. I'll have to dig it out and give it a new home in my house!
SO CUTE!!! I love what you did to your little picnic box.......
I have missed stopping in here to see all your handy dandy redos!! Hope you are doing well.... I bet the kids are getting so big!!
Have a great week!!

Girl. I love the perfunctory bottle of wine. It looks lonely though. Bottoms up!
PS. Love the box. Supa cute.
That turned out soooo cute!
I love it! I am going to keep my eyes open for something like that. I would have never thought of doing that but it is just perfect for the table!
Great idea. I'll file this away bcause we have napkins and such that also need to be contained!
Congrats. You are on Today's Creative Blog.
I've followed your blog a long time.
I think this may be the first time I commented.
I love this.
So cute & fresh.
You have a good eye!!!!
Now, will you please move to Jersey & be my new bff & help me redo my home...on a budget of course.
Way cute! I love that color of green!
You have the best ideas. You must promise to never stop blogging!
Wonderful idea. It really does make what would look like clutter on your table look neat and organized instead. I am still amazed at how different a piece can look with just a little paint...you'd think I'd be over that by now!
How cute!
Hmm... wonder how that would look with one of my old soda crates...
Sweet! I found a brright blue one Friday. I bought it for my shop, but haven't decided yet if I'll repaint it...or just sand it a bit to tone down the blue and expose the old crateness of it!

I'm always looking for something for the middle of our kitchen table to hold the napkins, salt & pepper etc...
Thanks for this great idea! Love it!
