On Wednesday I showed you my new rocking chairs, and promised that I'd tell you about my new outdoor pillows, and how you can score some of your own.
The only non-polyester, non-outdoor-friendly part of this was the blue cotton material covering the pillows. (But the stuffing in the pillows is polyester, so we're still good.) And that's what the tablecloth is for. I just cut it into squares and sewed a simple cover (inside out, so the color wouldn't bleed through) for the pillows. Voila! Instant waterproofing.

I did something similar with our existing outdoor cushions - some outdoor fabric from JoAnn's and they look brand spanking new! Mine were a little more than $27 though! Great deal!!!
Great thinking using the tablecloth to waterproof the pillows! I was just thinking the other day that my porch could definitely use more pillows...I will be using your advice for sure!! :-)
An inside-out tablecloth?? Whodathunk?
Clever clever!! Thanks!
p.s. it's snowing like crazy down here in the Springs...we even have a snow day!
Did you guys get any up there in Denver?
I love the pattern that you chose for those, too! Very sophisticated!
Yes Momza! I was laughing this morning when I posted this, because I haven't been able to sit outside all week due to the hail and rain and snow! I guess that's what I get for jumping the gun on my summer decorating! Stay warm and dry! :)

So clever -- they look great! :)

Wow!! Beautiful!! Makes me want to go to Goodwill AND get out my little ol' sewing machine!
Have a fun weekend!

I love your look. Where did you get your rug? Thanks
Brilliant. I'm in awe (again).
SO smart to make covers out of a plastic tablecloth to go under the fabric!
FYI: The outdoor rug was from Target a few years ago at the end of the season. It's a bit faded, but still functioning great!
What a lovely deck, Carrie! You've outfitted it so beautifully. The wee snippet of your view looks like the topography just east of where I live.
