If you're coming over from Kimba's fun Holiday Open House Party, WELCOME! (The rest of you, as usual, are always welcome!) Take a look at my kitchen and dining room decorations below, and feel free to check here for my family room all decked out. Merry Christmas!
As I sit and type this, it is 9 degrees outside. Seriously cold! I feel so blessed to be warm and cozy in my house, as the snow falls outside and a fire burns in my fireplace.
Part of the reason I feel so cozy is the face that I have this view as I sit in my family room:
My walls are a warm buttercream color and I love how the cabinets and floors look with it. Then, add in the reds and greens of Christmas, and it just doesn't get any better! Don't you love the little twinkle lights of the Christmas tree on top of my fridge? So cozy!
To jazz up the chandelier I just tied some simple pepperberry wreaths with some lime green grosgrain ribbon. Fun!
My Christmas plates, above, look so cute on this little shelf. The simple winter scene is so quaint, and I just think the colors look pretty together with a few candy canes peeking out.
Lastly, I just started my Christmas china collection, above, for all those future Christmas dinners I hope to have at my house. I love how they resemble a red toile pattern, but have the unmistakable Christmas feel to them. I got them at Home Goods, in case anyone else is on the hunt!
Thanks for enjoying the coziness with me!

Very pretty. Loving the china!
When we lived in Philadelphia I had a Home Goods right down the road. Since we moved I have none. Sob. I'm currently suffering from plate envy! Those are fantastic. You've done a beautiful job decorating your beautiful kitchen!
Love the Christmas china. Snow sounds wonderful too!
It is so very cozy! Really cute too. (Did it really get to -18 the other day? or was that 'just' the wind factor?)
And your plate collection is pretty.
It's all just perfect! Stay warm. :)
Very pretty. I have white cabinets & a black w/. grey counter also. I'd love to have that wall color but don't know if I can talk hubby into painting anytime soon.
Love the dishes.

I love your Christmas dishes. You can't go wrong with transferware. Everything looks so nice and cozy. I am not to that point yet. Still finishing home improvement projects and wondering why the breaker to the family room keeps flipping.
It is all so beautiful and cozy! We're feeling the cold here in OK too. It was a high of 19 yesterday and today is hovering around 21 degrees. Burrrr! I did something similar to your little wreaths hanging from your light, in my bathroom I hung red snowflakes from my vanity light. I love all the whimsical ways to decorate at Christmas! Your house is lovely☺
I love all of the colors together and the little wreaths are so cute!
Hey Carrie! Everything is so pretty and warm and cozy! The little tree on top of the fridge is a great idea, and I really like the china. :) Stay warm today!

Carrie it is so cozy & warm. Loved the table setting.
Very cozy and pretty! I have a few of those plates. You know they come in another colorway - green Christmas tree instead of the red. That might be fun for you to mix in.

Our kitchens are very much alike...except I have a tile floor.
Love it! I would love to have snow. It has not snowed here since I was in 2nd grade and that was about 35 years ago, but it might snow tonight!! Fingers crossed! Love those plates. Off to Home Goods I go!

merry christmas
I just starred at this pic of your kitchen- amazing...So festive- why can't I think of displaying christmas dishes? Better than the spode being up on the highest shelf awaiting the day to come- wow- love your blog- it inspired me to go clean my kitchen- hahaha
My house is very similar color wise. The colors work great at Christmas. Love your blog, the oreo cookies look delicious. So much to bake so little time.
I'm a bit behind...I just came across your blog and saw your Christmas China photo-so beautiful! I checked my Home Goods, and even replacements.com, but had no luck...would you possibly share the manufacturer/pattern? I'd love to find them!
Happy New Year!
MaggieMae,
I hope you see this comment! I have had lots of trouble getting a full set of these dishes...I originally found them at Home Goods, but of course they didn't have enough to make a set of 12 (dinner and dessert plates, although I think they make mugs too). I eventually resigned myself to ordering them online. They are made by Johnson Brothers. I found a guy on ebay who was able to sell me the additional plates I needed. I would start there! Let me know if you still can't find them!
Carrie
