Extreme Nesting Mode

I am still finding little projects around the house to keep me busy!  My sister says I am in extreme nesting mode now that I am only about 12 weeks away from having Baby #2.  That might be true, but I also know (from having Baby #1) that once Baby #2 is born, I will be out of commission, project-wise.  I will probably be proud of myself that I get dressed in the mornings, let alone even attempt to spray paint or Mod Podge anything.  So, let's enjoy this spurt of energy while we can!

I recently bought this little metal basket.  It's pretty sad.

But I found some scrapbook paper and Mod Podged it until it looked cute enough to hold our takeout menus.  :)

I was at Michael's the other day and saw this little turkey on sale for $2.99.  I thought he was cute enough to come live at our house, but that he needed a makeover.

Here he is with a new coat of brown paint.  He's meant to hold a candle but I kind of liked him with a little pumpkin instead.

See?  It's all part of my attempt to distract myself from the half dozen Christmas decoration boxes in my basement, screaming to be opened and put to use!

You amaze me! What will we all do when you are 'out of commission?' :) These are great little creations all your own. The Holidays are a great time for nesting I think. You have extra reason.

p.s. the Tigers would have been glad to gather those sticks from yesterday in the woods for you. :)

So impressed! I am so inspired by your decor...I'm kind of bummed that just when I'll need it most (when I get to our new TN home in January), you'll be out of commission for a while! =(

You come up with the cutest ideas! I wish I was as creative! How do you keep your house clean and do all these projects, I wonder. Its either one or the other for me..lol. Have you ever posted your daily cleaning schedule and I missed it?

OH, that is nice! It looks like you went shopping at Ballard!!!!!
Looks great!

You are so very clever! That little turkey looks a hundred times better carrying a little pumpkin than a candle. You really should be making the big bucks as a consultant for some home decor company.

You will be so busy you won't have time to think about projects. When the time comes just look around as you hold your new baby and enjoy what you've accomplished. You will have accomplished a lot!!

Take advantage of the nesting phase! Love that little Turkey:)
I'm seriously considering pulling out some of my Christmas decorations. We are going to be travelling for Thanksgiving so we won't be home to put up the tree like we normally do. I have so much stuff that it takes forever to get it all out. Maybe I'll pull a few Rubbermaids out and get started:)

Wow -- I love all your little projects! My project today -- call a painter -- my kitchen paint job keeps getting delayed -- can't take it much longer!

Hope you have a good day and find some more projects to share!

I saw the turkeys too, but they didn't look right for me. I never thought to spray paint them - they look awesome. By the way, I put sticks in a vase in my masterbath yesterday!

I remember those nesting days of pregnancy I tried to make the most of them as well. Now I have four kidlets and it's hard to get anything done beyond taking care of them. Love what you did in your bathroom.

I really love the little metal tin...where did you get the scrapbook paper? Who makes it? We have slim pickins here in my neck of the woods and I have been looking for a black and white diamond pattern.

We have menus and no where to put them. I am going to search for an ugly metal container and then make it pretty like you did! These are just things that I would never think of doing! Great crafting mind!

Love the turkey, btw.

Love the idea of a take out "basket"...mine are in a drawer, the car, the study...shall I stop?!? lol Great way to change it too!

12 weeks and baby #2...yes, things will change, but you'll love it. It will take some adapting, that's for certain. Enjoy this nesting time. Shell

Love the basket - it is very retro! I like the turkey as well. It is amazing how the darker paint just makes it more elegant.
