I am still finding little projects around the house to keep me busy! My sister says I am in extreme nesting mode now that I am only about 12 weeks away from having Baby #2. That might be true, but I also know (from having Baby #1) that once Baby #2 is born, I will be out of commission, project-wise. I will probably be proud of myself that I get dressed in the mornings, let alone even attempt to spray paint or Mod Podge anything. So, let's enjoy this spurt of energy while we can!
I recently bought this little metal basket. It's pretty sad.
I was at Michael's the other day and saw this little turkey on sale for $2.99. I thought he was cute enough to come live at our house, but that he needed a makeover.
Here he is with a new coat of brown paint. He's meant to hold a candle but I kind of liked him with a little pumpkin instead.
See? It's all part of my attempt to distract myself from the half dozen Christmas decoration boxes in my basement, screaming to be opened and put to use!

You amaze me! What will we all do when you are 'out of commission?' :) These are great little creations all your own. The Holidays are a great time for nesting I think. You have extra reason.
p.s. the Tigers would have been glad to gather those sticks from yesterday in the woods for you. :)
So impressed! I am so inspired by your decor...I'm kind of bummed that just when I'll need it most (when I get to our new TN home in January), you'll be out of commission for a while! =(
You come up with the cutest ideas! I wish I was as creative! How do you keep your house clean and do all these projects, I wonder. Its either one or the other for me..lol. Have you ever posted your daily cleaning schedule and I missed it?
I remember those last few weeks. Cute projects. Nest away!
OH, that is nice! It looks like you went shopping at Ballard!!!!!
Looks great!
You are so very clever! That little turkey looks a hundred times better carrying a little pumpkin than a candle. You really should be making the big bucks as a consultant for some home decor company.
You will be so busy you won't have time to think about projects. When the time comes just look around as you hold your new baby and enjoy what you've accomplished. You will have accomplished a lot!!
How did you do that basket? What is "mod podge.." I SO want to do that-I have a million metal baskets, and I need something like that!!!!
(Happy Nesting!!!)
Love the little metal take out thingy.
Very cute.
You are so creative and I'm jealous!! I love both of them!
Take advantage of the nesting phase! Love that little Turkey:)
I'm seriously considering pulling out some of my Christmas decorations. We are going to be travelling for Thanksgiving so we won't be home to put up the tree like we normally do. I have so much stuff that it takes forever to get it all out. Maybe I'll pull a few Rubbermaids out and get started:)
Wow -- I love all your little projects! My project today -- call a painter -- my kitchen paint job keeps getting delayed -- can't take it much longer!
Hope you have a good day and find some more projects to share!
Janet
I saw the turkeys too, but they didn't look right for me. I never thought to spray paint them - they look awesome. By the way, I put sticks in a vase in my masterbath yesterday!
That's a great idea to modge podge with scrapbook paper. I would have never thought to do that. How crafty! Yes, get everything done now, your world will change with #2:-)
precious...love both the ideas! nesting was one of my favs of pregnancy...the most gets done, you are like superwoman!!!
I love the turkey with the pumpkin..so cute! This is the first time, that I have been so tempted to pull out my Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. We are gone 2 weeks in December so we do not enjoy it very long!!!
12 weeks...how exciting!
-sandy toes
Good stuff, as always!
My word verification is "maked." Hm....kind of fitting, don't you think? LOL
Your basket and turkey look so CUTE!! Great job!!
The metal basket and turkey both turned out great! I would kill for your creativity!
Enjoy your last 12 weeks. In the meantime, Happy Nesting!
I saw those some turkeys this weekend. I thought they were cute and what a great price. i really like it better brown though. Nice job!
Wow! I love the new take-out-menu-holder!! I also love mod podge...and think of a million and one things to do with it...but rarely get around to it. So, it's nice to see the things you make, which are always totally CUTE! The little turkey is cute too with his new brown hue :)
Hope you're having a great Tuesday!!
I love both of these projects!
I wish you all the very best when your baby arrives, but... where ever will I get my great ideas to copy!? LOL
Beautiful projects today!
I remember those nesting days of pregnancy I tried to make the most of them as well. Now I have four kidlets and it's hard to get anything done beyond taking care of them. Love what you did in your bathroom.
I really love the little metal tin...where did you get the scrapbook paper? Who makes it? We have slim pickins here in my neck of the woods and I have been looking for a black and white diamond pattern.
Love the little turkey! He looks so cute with that pumpkin.
What a great idea for takeout menus.
We have menus and no where to put them. I am going to search for an ugly metal container and then make it pretty like you did! These are just things that I would never think of doing! Great crafting mind!
Love the turkey, btw.
Those turned out so cute! That makes me think I need something cute to hold our take out menus. :) Love the turkey!
ADORE the metal baskets!
12 weeks to go... WOW! How exciting!
ENJOY!

What great ideas you have... I am so going to Michaels and see if I can find some Turkey love. Awesome blog.
Love the idea of a take out "basket"...mine are in a drawer, the car, the study...shall I stop?!? lol Great way to change it too!
12 weeks and baby #2...yes, things will change, but you'll love it. It will take some adapting, that's for certain. Enjoy this nesting time. Shell
Way to hold out with the Christmas decorations : ). I am a big fan of waiting until after Thanksgiving. : ) I am definitely in a minority though. I prayed for you today. I hope you are feeling well and the baby is doing well too!
I love the tin basket! You are so full of ideas!
Angie
"Nana's Box"
I know what you mean.About the baby stuff and avoiding the attic.
The early Christmas blogs are not making it easy. I never even think of Christmas before Thanksgiving.Only 2 more weeks to enjoy the warmth of Fall.
Love what you did with the paper!
Love the basket - it is very retro! I like the turkey as well. It is amazing how the darker paint just makes it more elegant.
You are so talented! I wish you lived in Indiana and could help me decorate my house! Keep them coming!
Maggie
I love what you did to the take out holder.. way to cute.

Love the cute projects! I love the modge podge (did i spell that right)_ I loved it when I got into that "nesting" mode. I was put on bed rest with my second baby at about 32 weeks, so I know that feeling. Do all you can, while you can! Number 2 is a whole different ballgame..LOL
Once again you amaze me!
Jo

I love the menu basket....mine are always a mess and taking up drawer space in the kitchen.....and I have a metal basket the same shape buried somewhere in my basement...I must dig it out!
I have to say, I am so impressed that you didn't cave and bring out the Christmas decor....you go girl!!
Lisa
I bought the same turkey(s) last week, and I painted mine, too! Great minds think alike, you know.
12 weeks away! that is so great! do you know the sex of the baby? how exciting!
What a cute idea for the take out menus and I love that you can just "whip" something up, like the topiary in your newest post. You always keep me inspired, I just with I could actually get some of my inspirations completed!
I swear I learn something new everytime I stop by here...so stinkin' cute!
You are so crafty! Love the topiaries, the turkey, and especially the harlequin wall pocket. There's just something about that pattern that just makes me drool! I also love the touches you did to warm up your bathroom. Looks awesome!
