The Wall-O-Photos

Some of you asked to see the photo wall on the staircase landing. I must say, I have loved walking by it every day. Unlike my old photo wall, this time I branched out to include things other than just photos. I have a silhouette of my husband as a little boy, a framed poem written by my great-grandmother, random stars and mirrors and clocks, and a big letter G for our last name. I also included black accents as well as gold. I like the mixture!

For all of you who hate the angled photos, I am sorry. It's hard to get a good photo pointing up the stairs.

Basically I just started in the middle of the wall with that big mirror, and worked my way out. I didn't worry too much about everything being perfectly spaced, because I don't have that kind of patience! But I am thrilled with how it turned out.

And now, a small announcement: I am taking a break from the blog. I'm not sure for how long, I'm thinking a month or so. We've got some stuff going on that I will share with you eventually, but now I just need to deal with it. I am OK, we are OK, but my attention needs to be elsewhere.

But please don't forget about me, because I will be back!

Ooops I forgot to ask you. Before you "go" could you please tell me who makes your incredible Christmas dishes...the red and white toile-like ones that you show on your table. I know you said you got them at Home Goods, but just in case they are not there and I have to google to find them. Are they Spode?

That wall is gorgeous and inspiring! I have a blank wall at the top of my stairs that I'd like to do something similar with. I like the mixture of mirrors and clocks.

I have been following your blog for awhile now and love your style. You will be missed! Take care and I look forward to your return!

First of all, thank you all SO SO much for your sweet words to me...as always, I am amazed at the kindness you are willing to give to a "stranger!" (Though I'd love to meet you all for coffee sometime...)

Secondly, to the woman who asked about my Christmas dishes, they are made by Johnson Brothers. And I was in a Home Goods a few weeks ago and already saw them displayed for Christmas, so you should be able to get some for yourself! Good luck!

Oh, thank you so much for taking the time to answer back about the Christmas dishes! Yay!! I'm going to head out to Home Goods tomorrow to see if I can nab some. P.s. the only reason I am still posting as anonymous is because I have not yet created a google account. Oh, and p.p.s. I am a Denver girl too. But, actually live in my home state of Minnesota now. We miss it terribly and hope to live there when one of our kids goes to Denver Univ. for snowboarding, er I mean college :))

Hi Carrie, I read your post yesterday and didn't comment, but then I was thinking about you this morning so I thought I'd come back and drop a note and say I am praying for you, that this break will be refreshing and that the things that are happening in your life (glad you are all ok) will draw you closer to each other and will bring you renewed joy and purpose. Blessings to you!

Dear Carrie, I have read your blog for a year now and I love it, and you are really gifted. What you have done is fantastic! You should pat yourself on the back, if I met you in person I would do it! I have lived in a few different states, Denver too, and it takes time and you have your whole life in front of you. You may not live in Ca. forever but for now it is a great experience and a great adventure, one I hope you will always treasure. I live in Southern California, otherwise I would take you out to lunch! Thank you for all the fabulous ideas, you have really made a difference! Hugs, Joyce

Hi Carrie! I haven't been blog-surfing in such a long time. I have enjoyed seeing your new home - it is beautiful! Don't you want to wander south to San Diego and help me decorate mine?! Our kids would have a great time playing together, I am sure! ;)
Best wishes to you on your time away. Hope all is well with you.
God Bless You!

Carrie,
I have been following your blog for quite some time and I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed getting to see your home and read your posts. Your home is just beautiful!!! I hope that you have enjoyed your break. I look forward to seeing you back soon.

I have also finally started a blog of my own. I am still a "baby blogger". In fact, I have only posted three times. You, along with my friend, Suzanne, at Our Southern Nest have inspired me! I still have a lot to learn. :-)
Take care! Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
