Hello, adorable green metal bins from Pottery Barn Kids. You are looking mighty cute today. However, I would like to send my kids to college, so I will not be bringing you home. Love you though!

Instead, I will visit my local Goodwill and find some rusty old bins for $3 a piece.
I will then apply some red spray paint. I will stain the wooden handles a dark walnut color. And I will add some chalkboard paint in a little square in the center of each bin.
P.S. Giveaway winners will be announced later today. Don't miss it!

Perfect. I love what you've done with those. I need to make a trip to the GW.
I like your version better! Have a wonderful weekend!

oh I just love 'em!! Seriously GREAT! Now I'm on the hunt for cheap bins!!
great idea, and I think yours turned out even cuter than the pottery barn version!
I like yours better! Great Idea...now I have to go look for bins!
You rock... they look great...
I love PB's bins, also. You have done a great job showing us that we don't have to succomb to their prices! Yahoo!
PB prices are typically so silly aren't they? But the inspiration they give to us all is priceless!
SERIOUSLY!
SO cute!!
those are fabulous!!
and, i have some small ones that i might have to work on now, thanks to you!
I like your bins better! Great job!
haha! The Red is better!
Good for you! They turned out great!

Those are FABULOUS!!! So fun.
Very cute!!!!
That is super cute! I love PBs catalogs, but cannot afford to spend the kind of $$ they want for it. You did a great job of "making do" ;-)
Brilliant! I'd love some of these for my sons room... I'll have to keep my eyes open.
Great job; they turned out great!! I was fortunate to find PB Kids buckets marked down to $6 a few years back. I bought all of them right then and there!
Love the Buckets!!! They are so cute!!
Your buckets are MUCH better than the ones at Pottery Barn. You have convinced me that I need to check out our Goodwill store for some great finds.
They are gorgeous! And RED!!
adorable!
Love the red! You (and the other decorating blogs I read) have really helped me start to see things for what they could be and not for what they currently are. Thanks for that! :-)
I was tempted by those PBK pails awhile back but then decided that having my children pull them in and out on a shelf would likely scratch the paint so I got some fabric bins from Target instead. Just an FYI in case you put them on a shelf and your kids pull them off the shelf, put them back on, etc etc. Paint might be scratched!

Creativity! Very inspirational! The red is even better.
Isn't it crazy that they get to charge so much simply because their name starts with Pottery and ends with Barn? It's insanity. Very cutey, cute job ya done!
Very cute. I like the chalkboard squares and the bins are the perfect shade of red.
I think you made a good decision! Bins versus College. It is a hard choice! : )
Love it Carrie! Yours are much cuter and made with love :)
Seriously, your buckets are much cuter! I have both the Pottery Barn Kids buckets and just cheap-o ones from Hobby Lobby and I like the cheaper ones better!
I love these bins. I have been trying to find some at a great price. I have been personalizing them with vinyl and my cricut machine.
Oh, I luv that shade of red and the chalkboard paint idea is so neat...you go girl!!!! Have a fun and safe weekend.
Blessings,
Linda
Smart girl!
Carrie, you are soooo funny! ;)
Love the buckets, and the new blog look. It's fabulous!
Can I just say that yours LOOK BETTER than Pottery Barn's? Yes, they do!
Have a fun weekend!

I agree, these are cuter than the "other" ones. Love the chalk board paint on them, makes them very verisatile. Great job, very cleaver.
