Fall Decorations!

Have you decorated for fall yet at your house?

I must admit, it's helpful having a three-year-old to prod me to pull out all the decorations from the basement. Yesterday, it sounded much better to curl up on the couch with my book, but Nina was bound and determined to decorate after seeing Halloween hoopla in our favorite bakery. So out came the boxes!

Here's our Halloween Countdown calendar. Each day of October is marked with a little pumpkin. Last year I blogged about how I made this little guy, in case you want to do something similar!

Last year I also made these cute little "Boo" pumpkins. Just some simple faux pumpkins from Michael's and some vinyl letters, also from Michael's. Couldn't be simpler!

I love me some mums for fall!

And of course my fall wreath...

...and "autumn" gourd! (Click here to see how I made this one!)

My vintage pillows are very sad evidence of my lack of sewing skills, but hey, they were cheap to make (just some felt, pillow stuffing, and simple thread)!

So it feels like fall in my house. My sad little tree in the front yard is turning a pretty shade of red. How about you? :)

  36. Will you please post about where you found the little pumpkins that are in the clear candle holder jar? I have looked at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Wal Mart, but have had no luck.

I'd also like to get some cranberries for Christmas. Any suggestions would be GREAT!

    Thanks,

    Erica

  39. Great looking fall decor! I love the gourd...no telling what we all can find in thrifting days!

  40. Your house is all ready for the coming Halloween! Just look at your fantastic decors! It's the gourd that I find most attractive and unique of them all. I chanced upon these tiny pumpkins(varying in miniature sizes, the biggest of which is no bigger than the circumference of my palm) at a nearby grocery store and seeing your gourd sparked an idea...

  41. Answering a few questions:
The little pumpkins in the candle holder were from Target. Got them on clearance a few years ago! As for cranberries at Christmas, I have not found any fake ones, but I am sure they are out there. I usually use real cranberries because I find they can hold up for the month or so that they are out.

As for the color that I painted my "Autumn" gourd, I think it was a color I mixed up on my own, using a few different paint remnants I had lying around. So I don't have a paint color to share on that one...Sorry!
    :) Carrie
