*Updated: Ooops, I totally forgot to mention that I used Mod Podge for both these projects! Many of you might already know this, but in case you don't, Mod Podge (found at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.) is a decoupage, gluey kind of liquid that you brush lightly onto both sides of a piece of paper, and then just wrap the paper around the object you want to cover. You just kind of keep mushing the paper down until it stays where you want it. Then the whole thing dries hard and clear. Messy but worth it! I am sorry I left you high and dry on the how-to part!
So here's the story. A few days ago I felt Hobby Lobby calling to me. It had been three months, and I think it missed me. So I wandered in and managed to locate the 80% off Easter stuff right away! Go figure. But I scored seven of these oversized Easter eggs for about 60 cents apiece. Yippee! (The bananas and apples weren't part of it.)
Plus, I am begging you to humor this girl! I am a sad, stay-at-home, puke-covered mother of two who needs to feel like she still has some life left in her...
I hope you have a great weekend, and I will be back with some more [fun?] stuff next week!
Love that toile bunny, great job! Eggs are pretty cute! Better late than never is my mottoe. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI seem to almost always get most of my inspiration AFTER the holidays. In the clearance section are projects waiting to happen! And now with blogging, I always see other people's projects that I can copy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
LOL...puke covered. Poor thing! :D Hey, I'm loving the toile bunny. I think that is cute for all year, not just Easter and I do love that black/white/apple green combo. You done good!

How cute! You know I keep seeing bunny rabbits with these new "clothes" on and so maybe I should buy one and dress him up myself. Love the eggs. So what if Easter is over?! What great ideas!
ReplyDeleteThe bunny is so cute and I love that it is something that you could keep out year round if you wanted!
ReplyDeleteI feel I'm playing catch up as well and just starting to feel like I am coming back to life after Anna Claire was born!
Very cute! I'm glad you were inspired and feeling creative, it's good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteEverything turned out darling and I think the bunny should have a permanent home in Nina's room. He's too cute to store away.
ReplyDeleteWay to go girl! I love the toile bunny.
ReplyDeleteLook at you busting out with all the posts & creative ideas.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting your mojo back.
Love the bunny - turned out great.
You are just too cute!! :) I remember all too well those days of having 2 babies and feeling overwhelmed and like I had really accomplished something that day if I could get dressed by lunchtime LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteYour projects turned out SO cute, especially that toile bunny! :)
Blessings,
Stacey

ReplyDeleteI love what you did with that bunny! Did you use Mod Podge? I'm going to have to give that a try! So cute! You gotta love Hobby Lobby!
Cool eggs!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised that I love the ribbon is my favorite part. They look great. I put my Easter stuff away and my daughter kept telling me that it was Spring, so I could still leave them out - you have my 6 year olds permission.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're back in the grove. Hobby Lobby is a great place to start!
ReplyDeleteLove your toile bunny! Bunnies to me are a year round kind of decor. I know my daughters would love it too.
ReplyDeleteWe have a similar bunny that I hide in random places around the house. Every few days, we go on a scavenger hunt to "find the bunny"! So fun!
Have a beautiful weekend!
Ah yes, you sad, stay-at-home, puke-covered mother of two, I thinnk you have located your decorating mojo again! Glad it's back! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny, can you do that w/fabric? I have some toile fabric left over from curtains and would like to do that. Maybe you could provide instructions please.
ReplyDeleteLook at you and your crafty self! Those eggs are so cute...and that bunny with toile...adorable! I think the bunny and the eggs could be left out all spring.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous Friday!!
You're too funny! I love Nina's bunny - so pretty with the toile! And and the eggs, too - makes me want to see if our Hobby Lobby has anything left! :)
ReplyDeleteI got the same bunny! Only I was boring and just sprayed him cream. Now I'm re-thinking that - maybe I'll just try a bow first. I love to buy stuff on sale like that!
ReplyDeleteI saw those eggs at Hobby Lobby today but didn't stop to look. I had to stay on my misson and that was to get some treats for the birthday party that I'm doing for my little on Saturday. Your looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I agree with you...now that this stuff is cheap-ola, I need the ideas so I can justify buying it all up. And how doesn't want a toile bunny around all year?? I would. I just wish I could find one in my area. Alas, there is no such thing. Did you tear the paper and mod podge it to the bunny? Or how did you do it?
ReplyDeleteI love it! That bunny is super cute and I love the way the ribbon cascades down. How did you get all that paper into the little nooks and crannies? Impressive!
ReplyDeleteI just love the big toile bunny! Bunnies are cute all year round and toile is perfect anytime, anywhere, anyplace!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Very fun and so nice to be able to get a little creative buzz! :)
ReplyDeleteBless you and your sweet family!
I LOVE your bunny. Oh my good heavens! I would like for him to live in my master bedroom. Toille makes my heart delighted: ). I just love it so much! I also love your eggs. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGuess what I got at Michaels today for 80 percent off? 6 white picture frames. 8 x 10. They were $.90 a piece. How fantastic is that? I just need to do something clever with them!
Or at the very least, put pictures in them and hang them on the wall. I have about 30 pictures in the garage to hang. I don't know what I am waiting for...
You're back!!! Love your bunny and that cute Henry! Enjoy your weekend! Connie
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I was totally over Easter , but unfortunatly the decorations are still up...weekend project. Love the bunny and eggs!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Makes me want to do something creative this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! That bunny looks great and could be used year round!
ReplyDeleteThat bunny is soooo cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteHugs from Eventually Cottage!
I LOVE that bunny! what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI have the same bunny, but mine got a mosaic makeover!
ReplyDeleteThe eggs are super cute:)
I love toile!!! That should be with a capital T, I love Toile!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, I know the feeling...

ReplyDeleteThat toile bunny is so cute! My home is screaming for toile!
ReplyDelete~ Sarah
The bunny is beautiful! I love it. And the eggs...how fun!
ReplyDeleteI came over from Good to be Queen. This is such a cute blog. I have enjoyed some of the ideas you have here.
ReplyDeleteI love how you changed those eggs.
Have a great weekend.
By my calculations, it's still Spring - eggs and bunnies are still viable decorating options. Great job - I really wish we had a Hobby Lobby!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love the clearance sales after each holiday! I always hit up those sales! I should check my Hobby Lobby, if they have anything left it's probably like 90% by now! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you made time to do something creative, I'm sure it's not easy to do right now! Thanks for sharing. :)
~Michelle
Very, very cute ideas!
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks like you hit the jackpot at Hobby Lobby. I love that store! Your eggs turned out soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely darling bunny rabbit! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe bunny is so clever-love it! We hit HL Friday and it was 90% off Easter - I had fun!!!! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love it all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the how to-I really have it in my car-and haven't used it yet. (It has been in the car for three weeks, I think I'll take it out now, and do something with it!)
Oh I love them both. I also hit the hobby lobby sale and scored big time this weekend. I did not see the same stuff you got though. Glad to see you getting your groove back!
ReplyDeleteLove love luv that bunny!
ReplyDeleteLove that bunny. I tried covering some easter eggs with scrapbook paper & modge podge but looked awful! I couldn't get the paper to lay nicely even after "soaking" it in modge podge! Did you have this problem with the bunny? Am I missing something?
ReplyDeletekaren
Karen,
ReplyDeleteI did not have the problem with the bunny, but I seriously saturated the paper with the Mod Podge, and you just have to really get your hands in there and not be afraid to mush the paper around so that it fits around the shape of the egg. You will have wrinkles...it will not be remotely smooth at all. But you just mush down the wrinkles and live with them. I am sorry you are having problems...let me know if things get better! :)
