Candy...Who Could Argue With That?

First of all, thanks to all of you for your advice on my scrapbooking dilemmas.  It was fun to read them throughout the weekend.  I got some really great ideas on how to get motivated, and I also got a gracious comment reminding me that I am a good mama, and that making the perfect baby book is not going to make or break that.  Phew!

I think I've decided to push through and make a baby book for my kids, but when that is done I might just revert to plain old albums or perhaps an online scrapbook (such as what Shutterfly or Scrapblog offers).  Thanks again for your help...and I will keep you posted as to my progress!  (A little preview: my husband is going out of town in a few weeks and it might be the perfect time to spread out all my stuff and get started!)

In other news, my 15-year-old cousin just had a birthday.  Teenage girls are hard to buy for, don't you think?  I am so not in touch with what is "cool" these days!

Remember a few weeks ago I showed you a gift I gave to my sister and her husband for their anniversary?  Here is another version of the same idea:

Any teenager loves candy, right?  I picked up this little pot for a few dollars on clearance, and stashed it away for the right time.  It is a fun lime green color, so cute!  I used rub-on letters to spell out her name, and just glue gunned a ribbon around it.  I figured when the candy was gone, Holly can use this for her jewelry, hair ribbons, or even for pencils on her desk.

This is another little gift that was super-easy to make, and (hopefully) more unique than what I got her brother a few months ago...a Target gift card!

  33. With age comes short-term memory loss... of course I meant your COUSIN and not your niece.

  34. I didn't think to mention earlier that Archiver's has page protectors that are divided so you can stick in pictures like a regular photo album. You can include those in with regular scrapbook page protectors. The idea is that you don't have to "scrap" every picture just maybe certain photos, and they can all be included in the same album. Hope that makes sense. I could always email you a picture of mine. It does make scrapbooking easier.
Love how your gift bucket turned out. I like giving gift cards that way!

  42. What a cute teen gift idea - I have some nieces and nephews that we're no longer doing gifts for at Christmas, but I'd still like to get them a little something - years ago when they were all little we'd give them a stocking full of candy - so this would really be a cute idea!

.....now I'm on the look out for cute pots!
